General explanation:
Every Sunday, Back 2 Basics will select one guest comic to be featured for the entire week in
the Guest Comic section. Those who submit their comics will also have the opportunity to send a
brief paragraph describing their feature, as well as a link to their site – both to appear underneath
the comic. After one week, a new guest comic will be featured, and the old one will move to the guest
comic archives to allow future visitors the ability to see it.
Now why would I do this, you ask? Simple: Free publicity for you and a better site for me.
The way I figure, Back 2 Basics is more of a newspaper comic strip. Therefore, I’m really not
looking to compete with any of my online colleagues. So rather than take up a lot of space all
over my site with random webcomic advertisements, I’ll offer just one spot on the site where people
can view these comics for free, in a professional, non-obtrusive way.
In short, it benefits everybody. Those who submit guest comics get free publicity, and those who
visit my site are offered another cool section which is regularly updated. WOOHOO!
How are comics selected?
Each comic that is submitted will be published in the next available slot. So if there’s a back up of
three unpublished guest comics, your comic will be published in four weeks. ALL comics will be published
unless they don’t abide by the terms and conditions.
Will the comics be censored?
Yes. Back 2 Basics is a family cartoon, and therefore the guest comics must not offend the readership.
So if your comic is too vulgar or obscene, it will be deleted. While the definition of vulgarity and obscenity
varies widely from person to person, the definition that matters is mine. If your comic is rejected, you will
receive an email notifying you, and a request to resubmit your comic, should you choose. For more information
on the Back 2 Basics censorship policy, see the terms and conditions.
Copyright issues:
All guest comics that appear on the B2B website are the intellectual property of their creator, and are therefore
automatically copyrighted as such. B2B only owns B2B material; your material is your own.
Size Constraints:
Whatever the size of your comic, know that I will be shrinking it to conform to the width used by my comics,
which is 750 pixels at a dpi of 72. If you don't know what that means, just check out how my comic looks on the
homepage, and understand that I will be shrinking the width of your comic to fit in that space. The height of
your comic can be as large as you want.
